Description: Project includes the reconstruction of the Westbound Entrance to Route 280 from The Garden State Parkway Interchange 145. One major feature includes the construction of an approx 600 lf, 5 span structural steel bridge. The bridge foundation consists of standard abutment construction and the piers are supported on 6' diameter drilled shafts in rock. Two of the pier caps are integral construction with the steel beams encased in concrete and post tensioned afterwards with almost 1,600 lf of post tensioning. Also includes demolition of the existing steel and concrete structure after construction of the new bridge. Another feature includes the construction of three precast concrete retaining walls ranging from approx 300 sf to 7,600 sf. Roadwork includes the realignment of ramps for the east and westbound entrances to Route 280 and the reconstruction of the Westbound Connector ramp as well as installation of new drainage features, curb and concrete barrier and paving. This project features night work and has a provision for a fast track construction dealing with the lane restrictions on Westbound 280.

Replacement of Route 59 Bridge over Metro North Railroad*

Description: Work includes the removal of an approximately 300 foot multi-span concrete and steel structure over the existing railroad track and replacing it with an 80 foot simple span steel and concrete structure. Work is to be accomplished using staged construction access. The existing Route 59 will be widened and the new embankment will be supported by approx. 20,000 sf of reinforced earth retaining wall. Various other incidental items include storm drainage upgrades and reconfiguration and resignalization of Route 59/Route 306 intersection.

Gilboa Dam Interim Stability Improvements*

Description: Project includes installation of multi-strand anchors, anchored into bedrock to stabilize existing dam. Responsible for providing access to the site, erosion control, water diversion cofferdams, installation of 500 ft by 40 ft high work platform for drill rigs, removal of loose debris and façade stone from the face of the dam and design/installation of 10,000 sy of debris fall protection netting on the face of the dam. The project also includes 740 cy of replacement concrete for a notch cut into the dam under a previous contract.

Description: This is one of several contracts for the construction of a new interchange on the NJ Turnpike. The project includes the construction of 4 new bridges ranging in size from 125 simple span to 1000' multi-span structures. The first is the replacement of a 220' long, three span structure that carries the Turnpike over the existing NJ Transit Facility. Another is a "cut and cover" type application where the existing Turnpike embankment will be turned into a 125' simple span bridge over the newly constructed ramps. The other two structures are for the exit/entrance ramps off the Turnpike and include a 1000 ft., nine span flyover bridge consisting of steel and concrete. Total structural steel in this project is in excess of 3 million lbs. and over 11,000 cubic yards of cast in place concrete. Foundations for the structures consist of H piles and 300,000 sf of steel sheeting consisting of both permanent and temporary. In addition to bridge structures, there are 6 pre-cast retaining walls totaling more than 50,000 sf and lengths up to 800 feet long. Other work on the project includes drainage improvements, demolition of existing bridge structures, new sign structures, highway lighting. The excavation for the project includes muck excavation and new embankment for ramp construction.
