Description: This is one of several contracts for the construction of a new interchange on the NJ Turnpike. The project includes the construction of 4 new bridges ranging in size from 125 simple span to 1000' multi-span structures. The first is the replacement of a 220' long, three span structure that carries the Turnpike over the existing NJ Transit Facility. Another is a "cut and cover" type application where the existing Turnpike embankment will be turned into a 125' simple span bridge over the newly constructed ramps. The other two structures are for the exit/entrance ramps off the Turnpike and include a 1000 ft., nine span flyover bridge consisting of steel and concrete. Total structural steel in this project is in excess of 3 million lbs. and over 11,000 cubic yards of cast in place concrete. Foundations for the structures consist of H piles and 300,000 sf of steel sheeting consisting of both permanent and temporary. In addition to bridge structures, there are 6 pre-cast retaining walls totaling more than 50,000 sf and lengths up to 800 feet long. Other work on the project includes drainage improvements, demolition of existing bridge structures, new sign structures, highway lighting. The excavation for the project includes muck excavation and new embankment for ramp construction.

AMB Soldier Pile and Lagging Wall

Description: Work consists of constructing approx. 110 lf of steel H-pile and pre-cast concrete panel retaining wall. The H-piles are anchored into the rock face by rock anchors and then backfilled with stone. The wall height is 32' high. The H-piles are cast into a 7 ft. deep by 42" round augered rock socket.

Reconstruction of Route 31, Section 6e/6*

Description: Work includes the excavation of approximately 240,000 cy, 80,000 of which is rock, and the construction of two major bridges - a 140 ft., three span over Norfolk Southern Railroad and a 270 ft., two span over the South Branch of the Raritan River. This project also includes two large precast culverts and over 30,000 sf of retaining walls, the most notable separating elevated sections of the north and southbound traffic. Additional incidental work involved pipe work, rip-rap, asphalt paving - SUPERPAVE, traffic signals and ITS traffic system.

Warwick Reservoir Dredging Project*

Description: Project includes removal of contaminated sediment from the bottom of a reservoir and disposal at an off-site facility, soil sampling and testing for waste classification, on-site air monitoring during contaminated soil removal. The project also includes removal of non-contaminated sediment from the reservoir bottom and disposal on-site. This work includes clearing & grubbing, sediment pond construction, drainage swale installation and underdrain system for construction of the on-site disposal area.
